How much does a classic heliskiing week in Iceland cost?
A classic week with Viking Heliskiing runs from €6,790 for 3 days (45,000 ft), €8,890 for 4 days (60,000 ft), to €10,490 for 5 days (75,000 ft) — twin per guest, full board at the 4-star Sigló Hótel. Booking through us costs exactly the same as booking direct.
What is included in the package?
Nights at the 4-star ocean-front Sigló Hótel, full board (breakfast, mountain lunch, three-course dinners), your guaranteed vertical, full ski or snowboard equipment, a BCA avalanche safety kit (transceiver, shovel, probe, airbag), IFMGA guiding on every run, the ski shuttle, and unlimited hot tubs and sauna. Flights, insurance and non-heliski activities are not included.
How much vertical will I ski in a day?
Days are measured in vertical feet, not runs. A typical day is around 15,000 ft — roughly 7 to 8 long descents — though great conditions bring far more (the record is 19 runs in a day). Across the week you ski 45,000–75,000 ft depending on your package.
When is the heliskiing season?
The Troll Peninsula season runs from 10 March to 6 June — ten weeks of stable Arctic light, from the Northern Lights in early season to the midnight sun in late spring.
What ability and fitness do I need?
Classic heliskiing suits confident off-piste skiers and snowboarders — a strong intermediate comfortable on ungroomed terrain and above will thrive. Your IFMGA guide matches the terrain to your group each day, and optional morning yoga helps you recover between helicopter days.
How large are the groups?
You ski in a group of four guests plus one IFMGA guide. Across the operation there are up to three rotating helicopter groups and a maximum of twelve guests, so the mountain never feels crowded.
